The Morning Morsel: Bernanke Speaks

Bernanke, who is scheduled to speak at 8:15 a.m. at the Boston Fed’s annual conference, will be watched for further confirmation that the Fed is prepared to embark on another round of quantitative easing in an effort to shore up the economy and fend off the threat of deflation. GOOG ripped the cover off the ball last night yet futures have been bouncing around this morning. All eyes will be on Bernanke today and I’m sure there will be a chopfest until he is finished speaking.

Copper is at a 2t month high as a result of the dying dollar and the greenback and the Ausie buck are almost at parity for the first time since about 1982.

The financials are faltering as JPM was kicked to the curb the other day and the XLF has failed miserably (so far) at the 200day moving average.
