The Morning Morsel-The “Hurd” Mentality Is Selling HPQ

It’s never the crime . but the cover up. Hewlett Packard doesn’t have much of a bid this morning as the investment community is shooting first and asking questions later.

Hurd’s importance to HP is as key as Jamie Dimon’s importance to JP Morgan. Of course it will pass, it always does, but when you live by the “pump” you die by the “pump” as Hurd was heralded as the do no wrong golden boy that changed the fortunes of HPQ.

Micheal Dell should have an affair, they could use the publicity, even if it’s bad.

Speaking of heralded golden boys, Buffet’s profits were off 40%, the man that brought you the “derivatives are the weapons of mass destruction” comment is getting whacked around by his exposure there. It’s just a blip and Berkshire will be fine, but Warren will no longer be judged by his stock picking acumen as much as how good or bad the economy is doing.

The conversation switches this week to “quantitative easing” and what the Fed will do going forward, especially after Friday’s poor jobs number.

The bulls are still very much in control and it is their game to lose right now. Goldman cut their GDP forecast for next year’s GDP growth to 1.8% from 2.5%, they also cut Japan’s prospects.

We had a great week on my Premium Site last week, so as always, stop on by. Have a great day.
