Santa better lay off the hot toddies and grab a shower. With about five or six trading days left to the year he has some serious catch up to do. Do we have to have a Santa rally? Of course not, but some trapped longs would love one.
Brent crude just tagged 2004 lows and commodities are still in liquidation mode, albeit on lower volume now as we approach year end.
We will soon morph from talking about the “Santa Clause Rally” to the ever famous (and stupid) “January Effect” for stocks. Sounds like a movie.
Now is the time not to become too analytical about things, but it is the time to start drinking early, wrap some presents and enjoy your family. Maybe catch a trade to keep you busy, but let it go and get ready for 2016.
