A late bid helped the stock market muster a modest gain after it had spent most of the session mired in negative territory. After the close, CSTR, LVS, JDSU, CTCT, DLB, N and SUN are the most notable names that reported after the close.

Futures are mixed after hours: S&P 500 futures are -0.62 from fair value of 1303.82 and Nasdaq100 futures +1.08 points from fair value of 2321.42.

Nine of ten sectors were in positive territory, led by consumer discretionary (+1.2%), telecom (+0.9%) and materials and consumer staples (+0.4%).

Tomorrow morning before the open, two economic reports are scheduled to be released: 1) Nonfarm payrolls (Consensus 148K) and Nonfarm private payrolls (Consensus 163K), 2) Unemployment (Consensus 9.5%), Average workweek (Consensus 34.3) and Hourly earnings (Consensus 0.2%).

Tomorrow before the open look for the following companies to report: AET, ABC, AON, AIV, AVID, CLX, SUR, CEG, UFS, FO, GHM, KNL, MGI, NOOF, CHUX, BPOP, PPL, PHM, SXT, SPG, SEP, SRI, TE, TDW, TSN, WY, and YRCW.
