The Wrap 1/24/11

{+++}The bulls stepped up today and tried to retake the hill. The NDX bounced 1.5% off the the 20 day moving average, the S&P held its 20 day moving average and the Russell 2000 took a small bounce of its 50 day moving average.

VMW reported after the close, call me too lenient, but I thought the report looked pretty good, but they have it down 5% in the aftermarket on the heals of FFIV’s  report which took it down 30 points the other day. Call me silly, but this isn’t the way technology stocks should be treated, GOOG acted lousy today, although AAPL really lifted its game.

Tough game to call here, and I am watching the action.I think we need to correct more, and will keep you posted.
